  • The year 1890 marked the establishment of a medicinal herb shop called Nam Nha Duong in Binh Thuy market from Binh Nhut hamlet held by Nguyen Giac Nguyen for keeping liaison and gathering patriots against the French colonialists. By 1895, the coming back of Nguyen Giac Nguyen to Binh Nhut hamlet (at the end of Binh Thuy bridge) formed the establishment of a pagoda named “Nam Nha Duong”
  • Binh Thuy Temple (Binh Thuy communal house or Long Tuyen Ancient Shrine) is situated in a large area around 4000m2 with its special style and was built in1844. At that time, it was only a simple cottage. It was restored many times. The last time was 1909 and has remained until now.

One of the best highlights to see and do in Can Tho City is the Binh Thuy ancient house. The Ancient house is a very beautiful residence imbued with features of the southern delta.
